Ladies Sailing

Do you sometimes feel your family or friends are leaving you behind in the sailing world? Then this is for you.

Throughout the summer sailing sessions are held for lady (and honorary lady) members of Castle Cove Sailing Club, who either want to learn to sail or improve their skills. We meet at Castle Cove every Friday morning, arriving at 9.00 - 9.15 h, aiming to be ready to go on the water at 10.00 h, and off again at about midday.

All levels are welcome, but complete beginners are recommended to do a Level 1 RYA course beforehand. The sessions are ideal for anyone needing to gain practice and confidence before starting competitive racing, but also for those simply wanting to enjoy a relaxed morning of sailing with safety boat cover.

These mornings are designed to be "fun" with instruction given if required and, after sailing, you can share your successes, disasters and experiences with others over a cup of coffee.

No boat? No problem - the Club boats are available for your use at a small charge. Short of kit? - we can normally help out.

A final word - you won’t be put off or intimidated by the more experienced sailors; on Friday mornings everyone, from the complete novice to the best sailor, helps both on and off the water.

For any further information, please phone Cathie Williams (Ladies’ Sailing Coordinator) on 01308 482232 or E-mail her.
