UPDATE: We are now at capacity for berthing and practicing berthing techniques, but if you like to join as crew for that then sign up below. If you just want to join in for the morning manouevres as crew, sign up below or with a boat then just come along on the day and if you'd like to join us for dinner please book below, please book for each person attending so we have full numbers.

An opportunity to brush up on those skills that have been unused for eighteen months. A relaxed Saturday on the water starting in the Clubhouse at 0930 for coffee and a briefing before going afloat to practice various manoeuvres under sail including reefing, heaving to and anchoring. Experience how your boat behaves under engine ahead and astern. Experiment with sail trim and spinnaker sailing. Opportunities abound to solicit on-board advice and learn from your fellow cruisers.

Following the session on the water we will head over to the Academy for marina berthing techniques under supervision. Then onto booked berths at Portland marina for the night.

On Sunday morning after a relaxed start, you can practice the exercises from the previous day.

This is a popular event full of helpful hints and tips and a chance to make sure all the boat systems are in good order.
