Mupe Cruise
A lovely little cruise was taken by the CCSC cruisers. Monica Wolff had always wanted to do this regular pilgrimage down to Mupe, but the stars had rarely aligned appropriately. Luck was with them this year and Steve and Monica cadged a lift with Seraphim and BONI respectively. The intrepid crew of Peccadillo made the cruise 3 boats in total for the night. Oppi Nationals 2024 Report By Mary Peats
Nearly 250 Optimists attended the Oppi nationals this year, including sailors from Czech Republic, USA, Netherlands, Spain, Ireland and Poland. There were 4 fleets - coached regatta, racing regatta, junior main and senior main. I was in coached regatta and Thomas was in racing regatta. Congratulations Sam Pascoe - World Champion!
After five days of racing at this year's ACO 13th Musto Skiff World Championship at Weymouth and Portland, Castle Cove sailor Sam Pascoe kept his cool under pressure as the event favourite to win the 2024 Worlds Title. Scorpion National Championships 2024
Castle Cove Sailing Club is delighted to be hosting the Scorpion National Championships from 27th July to 2nd August. We are looking forward to welcoming over 70 boats and their crews from all over the UK. (FYI there appears to be no specific collective noun for a group of Scorpions!?) Boats, Bands and Bromptons.... Cherbourgers 2024
We sailed all the way to Cherbourg apart from engine assistance for the last part. In France we enjoyed a mass bike ride - all 4 Bromptons plus several hired electric bikes. Later that evening there was the Cherbourg Solstice music festival throughout the town. On return there was little or no wind back to Weymouth although we were helped by the genoa in the last quarter. See the full report HERE

YCW Keelboat Regatta 2024 - 13/14 July
Back in 2022 we had two days of fabulous sailing in the bay with members of Weymouth Sailing Club. The feedback was awesome.
