    Dinghy racing : Sailing Sec Update 6th April

    Change to schedule Sunday Weekend series racing will be split into Gold/ Silver handicap fleets with Gold start preceeding Silver . Wednesday evening will be just two starts , Z & K keelboats and Dinghy class 9 (with Cadets starting and racing within class 9 with additional own results extracted )

    Get on yer bike to Sandsfoot Beach!

    Last Sunday marked the official end of this year's Working Parties. Excellent support from club members has enabled a wide variety to be successfully completed. Amongst the tasks the club has been undertaking further work on the beach foreshore installing five bike racks for community use.     CCSC Musto Skiffs at Oxford Blue

    3 Musto Skiffs turned up to a sunny and warm Oxford Blue. Just as we went to launch the gusts build to a nice 15 knots Race one Sam Barker won the committee boat and put the nose down hard.     1st Place for Sam at Tiger Trophy

    Five Musto Skiffs turned up to an unusually warm and sunny Rutland for the sixth leg of the Seldén Sailjuice Winter Series. After day one we got off the water to find out that the Musto class was 1-4 on the overall results of the Tiger Trophy! Only a few murmurs about our handicap... but it's okay.     Galley Chef 2024 Amanda De Saulles

    The Clubhouse was buzzing with culinary competitive spirit at the 2024 Galley Chef Competition. The competition had a bit of a different twist this year as each competitor had the opportunity to use a secret tinned ingredient in a bid to gain extra points!     Sam continues to lead the way at Bloody Mary!

    Sam reports... That 5 Musto skiffs turned up to 5-12 knots and a warm 10 degrees. Far too tropical conditions for the Bloody Mary. Having missed one of the winter events I got the far nicer coloured Silva rash vest. Whilst watching the early starts we chuckled as the RS400 had a general recall and started 2min later.     Castle Cove SC has just shown its depth of dinghy talent again at one of the country's bigger winter events - The Draycote Dash. Our current most successful dinghy racer, multiple champion, and joint principal organizer of CCSC Cadets - Sam Pascoe has added another notable event win to his collection.     Prize-giving and Ceilidh 2023

    A wonderful prize-giving celebration at Castle Cove's Club House last night. Members were treated to a 'full on' curry experience provided by Tikka Trak followed by Commodore Andy Adler's speech and some lovely puddings! Over 60 prizes were awarded by Rob and Sandra Smith and Charlie Adler.     Great Turnout For CCSC's AGM

    The CCSC Annual General Meeting was held on Friday 10th October 2023. The meeting was attended by over 80 members. Our Commodore reflected on our Centenary year and thanked all members who had contributed to running Castle Cove Sailing Club both on and off the water. He remarked that the support members give to open events culminates in rewarding feedback from visitors who continue to compliment both the facility and the friendliness of our Club.

    Winter Supper and Quiz Night

    A delicious supper was cooked by Rob from Brown Goose Catering and a very entertaining quiz organised by club member Quizmaster Richard Bowers which was the perfect combination for a winter gathering in our Clubhouse.     Seagrass Workshop held at CCSC

    On Monday 6th November CCSC members and members of the public received a very informative presentation and workshop on seagrass from the Marine Conservation Society. The workshop was led by our Vice Commodore Ian Green with the support of Dr Jean-Luc Solandt, Emily Bunce, Amdeep Saghera and Dr Peter Richardson from the MCS.
