Pascoe Family Dominates as Castle Cove Smashes 'Fast, Family, Fun' Regatta

The 2000 Class held a highly successful six-race regatta at Castle Cove Sailing Club over the Bank Holiday weekend, triumphing over challenging light winds to perfectly deliver on its "Fast, Family, Fun" slogan. The Castle Cove race management team worked tirelessly to maximize the fading five-knot breeze, providing precision race delivery that allowed a highly competitive, junior-powered fleet to showcase their tactical skills.
The event proved to be an absolute masterclass by the local Pascoe family, who heavily influenced the weekend both on and off the water. Tristan and Sam Pascoe dominated the racing, securing five victories out of six races. This exceptional performance sealed one of the most dominant Millennium Series helming debuts ever recorded. Meanwhile, Benjamin Pascoe and Merryn Attridge added to the family achievements with multiple strong top-four finishes. The multigenerational family affair also saw Martin Pascoe managing the fleet briefings and the wider family facilitating a takeaway curry evening for the competitors ashore.
While the Pascoe winning streak was momentarily broken by the Horsfields in Race 4, and closely challenged by the surging Burridge team on Sunday, the overall podium standings reflected incredibly tight tactical racing. Supported by tremendous volunteer hospitalityincluding homemade cakesthe club cultivated a warm, buzzing atmosphere in the boat park. The weekend concluded as a perfect advertisement for family-centric dinghy racing ahead of the upcoming series event at Shoreham. secured fourth place. The weekend featured three generations of the Pascoe family participating, highlighting the class's focus on competitive family sailing.
