Opportunity to see Boleh

Come and see the historic junk yacht 'Boleh'.

'Boleh' is a historic yacht built on the lines of a 'junk' from South-East Asia in Singapore in 1948. She was fully restored with the help of a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund in 2015. She will be in Portland Marina for four weeks this summer and over that period 120 young people from schools in Portland, Weymouth and Dorchester will be sailing on her.

On Saturday, 25th June the vessel will be open to the public outside the Harbour Office on Weymouth Quay. All are welcome to come and see this unique vessel.

As the result of a partnership between the Boleh Trust and the locally based Chesil Sailing Trust, Boleh has been a regular sight in local waters since her restoration and a large number of young people have enjoyed the chance to sail on this extraordinary craft. In doing so they have learned more about the sea and sailing as well as the history of the vessel herself.

No prior booking is necessary for the Open Day, just come along and see us in Weymouth Harbour on Saturday 25th June between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.
