Barnes Cup Pursuit

The "all in together " pursuit race was held on August Bank holiday Sunday , 35 boats came to the start area including a wide variety of dinghies from Cadet, Martha Greenwood in "Tera Sport" starting first to sail the full 100 minute duration to Ben Richardson starting 49 minutes later in a "Wasp" with two keelboats also racing .
A large reverse P course around the harbour in gusty stiff Northerly breeze was a challenge and there were a few capsizes and one overboard from a keelboat ( auto inflated lifejacket ). Post event with everyone safely ashore there was a cream team and Stuart Barnes presented the Trophy to Ben Richardson "WASP"
