Winter Work Parties

Hi all,

Once again thankyou all for an excellent Work Party turnout last Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday Jobs achieved included concrete infill to west slip and seawalls led by Nick Browning.

Sunday jobs achieved included:

Completing trim of verges and vegetation to external car park area , back footpath and wall behind dinghies,

De-rusting and painting of main gate posts and diesel tank.

Pontoon scrubbing, and Tern Too hull jet wash and oil empty to 3 club boats.

Gutter cleaning and addition of trim to back step and dinghy mat cleaning.

Solar lights fixed to car park fence

Help to Grace with tidy to training room and chart room, and help to Rose in the garden.

The club boat team managed to remove the engine from Idler ready for replacement and Malcolm is continuing to make up the new jetty gate frame. Thanks to Carol and team for gamely providing the refreshments.

Meanwhile, down at the Academy, over the last two weeks, the Imogen team led by Mike Conroy, removed the old chain from Imogen and separated the anchor, partially stripped the winch, took the radar off, stripped out the wiring, and opened the Radome with a view to cleaning it for sale. This week the prop has been polished and the internal paintwork scrubbed and stripped, ready for a start on the hull.

Next Sunday Work Party 9.30am. Jobs include:

Resetting posts in verge behind external carpark (sledge hammer and post holer)

Scrubbing decking and outdoor furniture ( scrubbing brushes)

Completing repairs and painting back door (paint brushes)

Scrubbing last pontoon (wire brushes)

Completing de-rust and painting of diesel tank (wire brushes)

Another go at cleaning dinghy matting

Assisting Grace with clubhouse tidy and Rose in the garden.

Refreshments at 11am (card and cash)

PS Grace asks if anyone has unsold jumble from last year's open day could they please remove it, especially priced and labelled items
