Mupe Aug 24

Mupe Bay | 17- 18 Aug 24
What a lovely little cruise. I have always wanted to do this regular pilgrimage down to Mupe but the stars have rarely aligned appropriately. Luck was with us this year and Steve and I cadged a lift with Seraphim and BONI respectively. The intrepid crew of Peccadillo made us 3 boats in total for the night.
The way out was a lovely downwind sail with sufficient wind to keep spinnakers in their lockers and after a little anchor fettling all 3 boats were settled in the bay. A slightly overcast afternoon robbed any enthusiasm for swimming but a taxi service courtesy of bob was soon established and food prep commenced. Shortly thereafter landing operations were concluded and barbecues were stoked up ready for cooking. Disaster then struck as the corkscrew went missing and we had to send a search party back to Seraphim. Having fixed this problem a pleasant meal followed despite some unwelcome attention from marauding herring gulls.
The next morning a beat back to the moorings was our reward but it was a nice sail none the less with clear skies and a fresh breeze.
